Vacation in the Patagonia

This was my latest vacation and it was the BEST vacation I had with my family and it was principally in the city of Coyhaique the least populated regional capital in Chile with around 60000 people and that including that is more than half of total population in the third biggest region and the least populated region also, basically the perfect region for people that are sick of the big cities.

We stayed in a cabin, but in the city. The principal purpose of the travel was to visit my sister for 1 week (because she has been working there) and have a little tour of the region, but instead of that we got the biggest adventure on the region traveling over seven hundred kilometers in dirt roads and mountains (because Coyhaique is between the Andes) passing by four national parks and twelve villages and only two "cities" Coyhaique and Puerto Aysén.

The more attractive feature of the region was ALL food, people, tourism, flora, fauna, environment (in front of Coyhaique you have the Cerro Mackay which is twice the height of the Costanera center and it can be seen anywhere in the city) and a lot of activities like visiting the Catedral de Mármol in Puerto Rio Tranquilo in a three hour tour in the second biggest lake in South America or you can drink the best beer of the country like D'olbek, Tropera, Hopperdietzel, and more.

Catedral de Mármol

The best places to eat was the Mesa Tropera in the center of Coyhaique and the impossible of surpass the D'olbek restaurant that is in front of the beer factory and if you’re lucky you can get a visit of the founder Charlie D'olbek and talk to him and know his personal history that it's so good that it may be your only reason to visit Coyhaique.

  2. I went there in 2022. It is such a beautiful place and region! I see you went to the big pizzeria in Coyhaique, but I didn't like it--I liked everything else ;)
